Hey, listen!
I'm Joao Carvalho, a Senior Product Designer at Apple working on Apple Business. I work across the full design process, from research and interaction design to the systems that help a product scale. Before Apple, I spent five years at Microsoft designing AI experiences for Teams and the interaction patterns that made them intuitive for millions of enterprise users.
Good design solves the problem in front of you while building foundations for the problems you haven't seen yet. That's why my work tends to live somewhere between product design and systems thinking.
I've worked at Apple (2026-now), Microsoft (2021-2026), Rangle (2019-2021), and Lenovo (2017-2019) building products for businesses, enterprise and admin tools.
Mentoring
I've mentored designers on ADPList, a free global mentorship community. Most sessions were about portfolios, interview prep and moving into a new market, with mentees ranging from students to senior designers.

Outside of work
I recharge through photography, drawing, and cooking. Sometimes the best ideas come when you're not sitting at a screen
